		<description>Good article except that in the winter time it is not always possible to get Vitamin D from the sun if you live north of the 37th latitude (Atlanta, Georgia).  The suns rays are just not strong enough then for the body to make any vitamin D.  A UV index of 3 or higher is needed.  Also, sitting in a window doesn&#039;t really work either because most windows are made now to block the UV rays.  And, if you wear sunscreen while outside this also blocks the rays needed to make vitamin D.  Take a supplement of at least 1000 IU each day, that way you know you are getting at least that no matter what the sun is doing.</description>
